Cable simulation with RobotStudio®

Cable Simulation with RobotStudio
We know that designing robot cables and dress packs can be challenging. With it comes the challenge that the cables connected to the robots undergo extensive wear and tear and that they can also cause a high level of collision risks.

RobotStudio offers cable simulation, enabling you to visualize the movement of the robot and the cables before implementation. This enables you to:
  • Reduce collision risks
  • Increase the life of your robots’ cable
  • Plan all the relevant details for optimal performance on your factory floor

Orora Fresh Packaging Solutions: improves efficiency and cuts injury risk with ABB robot cell

ABB Robots Check All Boxes, Helping to Make Packaging Company More Productive.
Less than an hour away from the Detroit-Windsor border in Canada lies Orora Fresh, a global packaging company who provides plastic and corrugated cardboard packaging solutions around the world. The combination of a need to boost productivity, hiring challenges, and the desire to boost the quality of work for existing employees, inspired Windsor-based integrator AIS Technologies to come up with a system that enables Orora Fresh to achieve these goals.

The system deploys 2 IRB 4600 robots, filling the job of stacking the boxes up to the max height allowed in transport vehicles thus avoiding repetitive strain injuries and saving employees from having to reach overhead. The system also boosts efficiency and quality. By automatically detecting and removing defects from the line, Orora Fresh is able to ensure its product meets their quality standards for each and every pallet. ABB and AIS Technology Group are proud to have partnered on numerous solutions over the years to help manufacturers and producers maximize production, especially in the face of changing labour and economic market conditions.

ABB Review

ABB Review
ABB recently released the 3/2022 edition of ABB Review, the company’s technical journal. The lead topic for this quarter is “better decisions,” examining the decision making benefits of digital solutions throughout the enterprise, from the boardroom to the plant floor. As decision makers need to understand and analyze data quickly and accurately, ABB provides a broad variety of technical solutions to support them.
"ABB’s RobotStudio, the world’s most-used simulation and offline programming tool for robotics is such a solution. The RobotStudio AR Viewer app is an augmented reality (AR) application for mobile devices that visualizes, in the real environment, the industrial robots configured beforehand in RobotStudio. The AR features enable precise positioning of a robot on the shop floor, which contributes to a better understanding of how it will fit into the space, helping to speed the planning of manufacturing processes."
