Along with welcoming the first day of summer, June brought one of the busiest months for automation events around the world. Last month alone ABB had the pleasure of greeting in-person smart automation and robotics enthusiasts at FABTECH Canada, Automate US, Automatica Munich, as well as virtually hosting the inaugural ABB Robotics User Conference across the Americas, Europe, and SOMA region.

Armo-Tool Providing Large ROI Through Automation

IRB 460 - Armo-Tool Solution
London, Ontario based Armo-Tool designed and built a robotic picking, placing, and sorting system to help boost productivity and alleviate labour shortages which have heavily impacted manufacturers around the world.

ABB Robotics Canada is proud to collaborate with Armo-Tool to bring automated solutions that alleviate labour shortage challenges and boost production efficiency. Check out their automated system for high speed picking, placing, and sorting which utilizes 15 ABB robots, ABB PickMaster technology, and the next generation Omnicore Controller.

The system provides the end user with $200,000 in cost savings per month, while streamlining production phases to maximize efficiency. The project highlights a strong collaboration between ABB and Armo, from design and testing phase through the use of ABB RobotStudio allowing for a digital twin of the entire system for seamless application optimization and proof of concept before building.
