Meet the Baldor-Reliance® EC Titanium™ integrated motor drive.
Helping you meet your system design goals around IE5 efficiency and flexible equipment design.
EC Titanium™ motors are a highly efficient integrated motor drive that combines synchronous reluctance and permanent magnet technologies for a sustainable, wirelessly connected solution that improves customers bottom line. Based on permanent magnet rotor technology, EC Titanium achieves ultra-premium, IE5 efficiency and maintains performance across varying speeds as well as full and part load conditions. This enables equipment to achieve optimal performance no matter the operating point.
In industries like building systems, food processing, water and wastewater, data systems, or even general industrial - IE5 efficiency is the topic of everyone's conversations. Motor efficiency standards are in place yet there's a demand to achieve even greater efficiency or meet or exceed IE5 efficiency, in order to operate profitably and meet new emerging pump and fan system efficiency regulations.
Existing EC motors have introduced higher efficiency in variable speed control, but as these regulations tighten on total system efficiency, more may be required to meet customer needs. New legislation around system efficiency will require motors that achieve high efficiency at base speed and full load but also maintain a flat, efficiency profile below base speed and at partial load conditions.
Features of the EC Titanium include:
• IE5 efficiency - highly efficient at full load and partial load conditions offering up to 16% efficiency gains at partial load and speed
• The integrated drive saves considerable control panel space and reduces wiring costs by placing the drive on top of or on the opposite drive end of the motor
• Tune and control flexibility – multiple options including wired keypads and PC tools for easy commissioning and tuning as well as Bluetooth communication for easy configuration and ABB Ability connectivity
• Plug and play – the drive is pre-programmed only requiring two inputs (start/stop) to run out of the box
• NEMA drop in – using conventional NEMA product architecture, the mounting dimensions makes interchanging seamless
• Power density – receive more power from a smaller frame size
• Reliable and low noise – extremely low starting current and less cogging reduces mechanical stresses of the driven load
• Integrated motor drive models are ABB Ability™ ready with built in capability to monitor the health of the unit
